Our Programmes
Adult Social Care pathways: Engage, Community Awareness, Community Participation & Community Engagement
Our Adult Social Care provision offers personalised pathways designed around each learner’s strengths, needs, aspirations and Preparation for Adulthood goals. Learners may access one or more pathways depending on their individual needs and progress. A total communication approach is used throughout, including AAC where appropriate.
Engage
A person-centred, holistic programme for learners with high or complex support needs. Learners develop communication, social, sensory, physical and independence skills through meaningful experiences in college and the community. The programme focuses on maintaining existing skills, developing new skills, building confidence and increasing choice and independence.
Explore: Community Awareness and Participation
A programme supporting learners to develop greater confidence, practical skills and independence. Learners take part in community activities, enterprise and work-related experiences, developing skills linked to Preparation for Adulthood. Learning is tailored to individual goals and supports learners to increase their participation in college, the community and everyday life.
Explore: Community Engagement
A programme for learners who are developing greater self-direction, independence and confidence in the wider community. Learners are supported to work towards their aspirations through community access, travel training, work-related activities and employability skills. The programme prepares learners for their next steps, which may include employment, voluntary work, supported or independent living, or further adult provision.
Across all programmes, learners work towards personalised goals and SMART targets linked to Healthy Living, Employment, Community Inclusion and Independent Living, with progress regularly reviewed.
